The Far North Quilt Trail was initiated on the traditional territories of the Dena Peoples of the lower Tanana River - we gratefully acknowledge this in thanks to the original inhabitants that stewarded this land since time immemorial.

Ethos was painted and installed by Talon Mensik at Humble Roots Beer Project taproom in July of 2024 in downtown Fairbanks, Alaska. A phenomenal addition to the quilt trail, this artwork is the bow on top of the newly constructed Humble Roots, a building design that was directly inspired by the historic Creamer's Dairy Barn located at Creamer's Migratory Waterfowl Refuge.
"The colors chosen are symbolic of the orange bursts that fill the Fairbanks summer skies as the setting midnight sun illuminates the community we all cherish so dearly. The soft and peaceful snowfall on a quiet winter evening fat bike ride throughout the many bike paths and trails Fairbanks has to offer is represented in the innermost portion of the design with blue hues. A union of seasons, both starkly contrasting but equally integral to the fabric of what makes Fairbanks so special. Our Ethos. Our community. A diverse and contrasting collective of vibrant people that celebrate our community, respect and recognize the Indigenous land we occupy and call home and strive for a better tomorrow."
